ABOUT

"Growing up in Turkey, I was exposed at a young age to the sacred and age-old tradition of jewelry as protection. From gold evil eye pins and coral cornicello horns to silver turtle shell pendants, we were adorned with pieces, often passed down, that served to protect and attract.

These symbols of protection, luck and remembrance and the sentimental and nostalgic approach to adornment taight me early on that jewelry could be both profoundly meaningful and beautifully expressive. That belief is at the heart of everything I create. Blending ancient symbolism with contemporary elegance, each piece is meant to be worn close, worn often, and help tell your story."

At SELIN KENT, ancient symbols are translated into modern forms, resulting in pieces that carry the weight of tradition while feeling entirely of the moment.

We believe that the most meaningful pieces are not merely worn but carried. They can carry the weight of a moment, a loved one, a memory. We design and create jewelry with intention, resulting in pieces that reflect your inner journey and act as companions through life's transitions.

Our work is often rooted in sacred symbols and mythology, ancient stories that have always helped explain the world we live in. The heroines, the birds of legend, and symbols that have endured across centuries because they still hold truth. We name our pieces after these figures as an act of devotion and remembrance.

Form is as deliberate as meaning. Our visual influences range from 20th century art movements like Bauhaus and Art Deco, to the universal forms found in nature. Our design language is built on contrast. Fluid curves alongside clean lines, fullness and negative space, rich texture against smooth metal, feminine and masculine. Each design choice is intentional, resulting in pieces that feel both considered and warm.

Each piece is handcrafted in New York City by expert artisans who are masters at their craft. We take care to use responsibly sourced stones and recycled precious metals where possible. The result is heirloom quality jewelry that is designed and made with intention, and will last a lifetime.
