CARE GUIDE & REPAIRS

REPAIRS

To request a repair, email info@selinkent.com with a photo of your piece and a brief description of the issue. We typically respond within 2–3 business days.

All repairs are handled exclusively by the jewelers and setters who make our pieces.

Warranty: We cover repairs for one year from the date of purchase on pieces bought directly through Selin Kent, subject to evaluation. The warranty does not cover damage from improper care or normal wear and tear. Pieces purchased through retail partners are always welcome for repair, handled at a fee. International orders are covered under the same one-year warranty; shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.

After the first year, repairs are available for a fee.

Resizing: Rings can generally be resized up to 2 US sizes (in either direction), for a fee. Please note that eternity bands cannot be resized.

CARE GUIDE

SELIN KENT takes great care to create beautiful and lasting jewelry that you can wear every day, but precious metals and delicate stones aren’t invincible, and a bit of care can go a long way.

General Care & Storage

To clean your jewelry, soak briefly in a bowl of water with a small amount of dish soap, then rinse and dry with a soft lint-free cloth. A polishing cloth helps remove fingerprints, oils, and light surface marks from metal.

We recommend removing your jewelry before strenuous exercise, showering, and before applying lotion or perfume.

Store pieces separately to avoid tangling and scratching — a jewelry box or individual pouches work well. For necklaces, leave the clasp outside the pouch to prevent knots.

Diamond Jewelry

Soak in warm water with a small amount of dish soap. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush to gently clean around and behind the stone, then rinse thoroughly in a strainer and dry with a soft lint-free cloth.

Delicate Stones ~ Opal, Emeralds & Turquoise

Never use an ultrasonic cleaner on micro pavé settings, opals, emeralds, or turquoise or opaque stones.

Emeralds are softer and more vulnerable to impact than many other stones — handle with care. Clean with water and a small amount of dish soap, wiping gently with a soft cloth. A soft-bristle toothbrush can help with buildup around the setting.

Turquoise should only be cleaned with your fingers — no brushing. Wipe with a damp cloth.

Opaque Gemstones (such as opal, malachite, and lapis lazuli)

Opaque gemstones need to be handled and stored with care. Never use an ultrasonic cleaner or cleaning chemicals on opaque gemstones. To clean, opaque gemstones should only be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Please remove jewelry before exercising or coming in contact with water, like showering or washing your hands.

Black Rhodium Pieces

Black rhodium plating will naturally soften and fade slightly over time. To prolong the finish, remove before bathing, swimming, washing your hands, or working out. Re-plating is available - email info@selinkent.com for a quote.
